The 2012 Building Energy Summit will deliver all the information and resources needed to help transform DC into one of the nation's most energy efficient cities by providing owners and managers with the tools to significantly reduce energy consumption and costs. Attendees will leave with a roadmap of step-by-step instructions of how to benchmark their buildings, monitor real time energy usage, analyze operational data, make efficient upgrades and changes, and integrate the latest technologies in order to significantly cut energy consumption.

"The DowntownDC ecoDistrict is positioned to lead the nation in energy efficiency," said Richard Bradley, Executive Director of the DowntownDC BID. "Teaming with CoR Advisors gives our members an experienced resource to help implement a comprehensive plan for cost savings and energy reduction."

The Summit will combine keynote presentations by industry leaders and energy experts, educational breakout sessions for hands-on learning, case study presentations demonstrating real projects and real results, and networking opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and solution providers. Speakers will present case studies of some of the most efficient buildings in town who have slashed energy costs up to 40%. The conference will also kick off the White House Better Buildings Challenge in the District of Columbia to collectively reduce energy consumption 20% by 2020. Efforts are underway to benchmark current energy conditions throughout the District and publicly report the results of the ecoDistrict energy saving initiatives.

The Million Dollar Question: Do You Have The Lowest Energy Rates?

Literally, the answer could be worth millions. With energy prices at 8-year lows, suppliers of electricity and natural gas are more competitive than ever in securing commercial business. If you're not aggressively shopping your energy contracts, it could be costing you millions of dollars a year.

CoR Advisors has teamed with energy procurement experts with more than 20 years experience to review your current contracts and let you know where you stand. We'll tell you if you're in good shape – or whether you need to renegotiate your contracts to take advantage of lower rates. All with no risk or up front cost to you.

Let CoR Advisors help negotiate, secure, and manage your electricity and natural gas supply. Here are a few examples of how we've helped other clients save money:
  • Multiple years of energy supply negotiations for a large national hotel chain, resulting in 15-20% lower energy cost each year compared to the incumbent utility.
  • Competitive electricity pricing for a commercial office portfolio resulting in more than $1,500,000 savings over the incumbent utility.
  • Natural gas pricing for a commercial real estate client resulting in over $500,000 savings.
  • Managed commercial demand response program which resulted in cash payments to the client exceeding $140,000 in 2011.
  • Converted index-price (variable) supply contracts to fixed-price contracts, eliminating a large publicly traded client's exposure to volatile and variable pricing.
  • Recommended and executed price blend & extend opportunities with suppliers to lower costs over a longer period of time.
  • Regularly monitor contract performance and recommend cost reduction opportunities in more than 25 different service territories for commercial client.
